No. This is not a merger or acquisition. We remain an independent, member-owned credit union, serving the Hopkins community and beyond.
What is not changing?
What matters most stays exactly the same:
- Our commitment to you
- The people you know and trust
- Your accounts and services
We’re still the same member-owned credit union—focused on helping you move forward with confidence.
Why are you dropping “Federal” from your name?
We’re evolving our brand to better reflect who we are and the community we serve. While we remain a federally chartered and insured credit union, the word “Federal” in our name can sometimes create confusion about who we serve, suggesting our membership is limited to government employees or federal workers. By simplifying, we’re creating a more modern, approachable brand that better represents our commitment to the Johns Hopkins community and beyond. What isn’t changing is your deposit protection. We remain federally insured by the NCUA, meaning your deposits carry the same coverage they always have, up to $250,000 per depositor. We are the same trusted, member-owned credit union with the same mission, team, federal charter, and federal insurance
