In the Community

Outreach Committee

Our team is deeply committed to giving back to the community. Beyond their professional efforts to assist the Hopkins community in achieving financial goals, our employees dedicate their free time to various charitable endeavors. The remarkable generosity of our staff has led to the formation of the JHFCU Outreach Committee. Whether it's crafting trees for Kennedy Krieger’s Festival of Trees or pre-packing lunches for students in need, our Outreach Committee is wholeheartedly devoted to going above and beyond.

Johns Hopkins University

New Student Orientation & Move-In

When freshmen move into their dorms for the first time, things can get a little overwhelming. JHFCU provides extended hours during Move-In weekend to alleviate some of the financial questions and concerns students and parents may have.

Parent Sessions & Athletics Orientation

As parents of incoming freshmen, we recognize that this is as much of a transition for you as it is for your child. Let us take some of the stress away when it comes to their financial planning. Whether it be questions about student loans or how you can send them money, JHFCU is present at the JHU Parent Sessions and Athletic Orientations, giving you many forums to receive answers.

Alumni Events

Even after students graduate from JHU, we hope that JHFCU is still prevalent in their lives. When you come back for Alumni Weekend, we hope that you will stop by our booth in the welcome tent and learn more about how we can help you meet your financial goals.

United Way Events

Each year, Johns Hopkins Work Life and Engagement works diligently to run a successful campaign for United Way, and JHFCU is a major supporter of that. We sponsor its Annual Chili Cook-Off/Dessert Bake-Off and Basket Bingo, all proceeds of which go to the United Way.

Financial Education Seminars

Budgeting - Throughout the year, JHFCU holds seminars free to our members on basic budgeting. Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors and representatives from our debt management company, GreenPath, give insight and tips on how to create and stick to a budget.

Homebuying - If you are interested in purchasing a home, JHFCU provides free educational seminars around the Hopkins campuses. Presenters include our Mortgage Lending Specialist, local realtor,  and Live Near Your Work Representative. If you are interested in attending a seminar, please look out for our next advertisement on the main page of our website.
