JHFCU’s Services Are Getting e-asier to Use!

Look for several enhancements to JHFCU’s online banking site
  • QuickenDownloads to newer versions of Quicken:
Several years ago Intuit stopped allowing free downloads to newer versions of Quicken and would only permit them if financial institutions paid hefty annual fees.  JHFCU declined to pay the fee, with the view that the cost was too high to pass along to members of the credit union.  But our homebanking provider, Digital Insight, was purchased by Intuit and under new negotiations downloads to Quicken will be offered.  We are working on implementation of this enhancement and expect to make it available later this summer.  Watch the website for details.

  • Bill Payment and Presentment: JHFCU’s online bill payment will be getting an updated look and new features.  The most significant feature will be “bill presentment” which will allow you to receive certain bills from major vendors online, right in your bill payment screen.  You will have a choice to set up automatic payment for these “e-bills” or to just use them as a reference to schedule payment.
  • Enhanced E-statements: The new e-statement program will allow us to include notices that typically get sent with paper statements so you will have them on file with your e-statement vs. getting a separate notice.

  • Faster loan application processing with instant notification: Later this summer when you apply online, in many cases you will know seconds after submission whether your loan has been approved, 24-hours a day.  There will still be final verification by the Credit Union, but the new application will provide a faster way of processing and notification.

  • Online deposits: JHFCU is planning to offer an online deposit service later this year.  Members will be able to scan certain checks via their home scanner and enter the deposit online for credit.  The deposit will be processed electronically and credit will be made to your account without receipt of the physical check.  Watch the website for details on this exciting new service.

Also on the horizon:

  • Shared Branching: JHFCU is exploring the option of becoming part of a national credit union shared branching network.  JHFCU members will be able to conduct select transactions at branches of other participating credit unions.  This new service will help make JHFCU more accessible to members who live out of the Baltimore area.

  • Updated TeleBranch 24: More lines will make getting through to JHFCU’s automated phone service easier on busy days.  We also will add some features to the system, while retaining the basic information and capabilities the service currently has.
We continue to look for ways to make your dealings with us easier and faster. We are excited to be offering these new improvements! Watch for details on the website.
