Consumers purchasing insurance through MAIF, the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund, often end up paying extremely high interest costs at outside financing companies. If you find yourself paying too much money for car or homeowner insurance, the Credit Union offers a program that could help you save hundreds of dollars per year. ENI Insurance Services, Inc., LCC, an insurance agency highly reputable in the credit union industry provides members various options that offer competitive rates.
ENI reports that members who call for a price have saved between $200 and $500 and in some instances, more than $1,000 per year. When you call for a quote, ENI searches through the 30+ companies participating in its program and finds the company with the most compatible and economical coverage suited to your individual needs. As an extra service, if you purchase insurance through ENI, the agency will also track your policy at renewal time; if the premium is expected to increase it will compare your policy with other insurance companies to let you know if you're still receiving the best coverage.
For a free, no-obligation quote, just call ENI at 1-800-649-4392 and the representative will give you an answer in 12-15 minutes. You can also get quotes by visiting ENI's web site at www.eniinsurance.com.
One
of JHFCU's many partnerships is with Enterprise Car Sales. Enterprise
offers features such as a no-haggle price system, 7-Day/1000 miles repurchase
policy, limited powertrain warranty, and more. They also occasionally
offer special rebates if you finance through JHFCU, too. For more information
about Enterprise, please visit their website at www.enterprise.com/carsales.
Several new car dealerships also advertise with JHFCU and offer special consideration to JHFCU members. The list of dealers and contact information can be found on the back page of our Money Matters newsletter, available in all of our branches and online.
Some dealerships can offer JHFCU financing on-site. This is an added convenience for members who want a JHFCU loan. However, applying and closing your loan directly with JHFCU offers some advantages, such as allowing us to verify the price/value of the vehicle and to set up convenient repayment options.
Enterprise also offers a great deal to our members for car rental services. Click on the images below for more information!
At
the beginning of the year, JHFCU posts a link on its web site to Turbo
Tax®, an online service that allows members to electronically
file their federal and state taxes for a low cost via their PC. With TurboTax®,
members' tax refunds are submitted and processed faster and can be direct
deposited into their account. Members receive acknowledgment of receipt
from the IRS within 48 hours; plus, the software is updated each year
and incorporates all new federal and state laws, making it easier to keep
up with changing rules and regulations.
Answer: There are a lot of reasons for the price difference. Some retailers may discount the store (desktop) version as a way to get you into their store. One very important factor to remember is that once you buy the store (desktop) version and take it out of the box; you have essentially purchased it and can’t return it. However, with TurboTax Online, you can go through the whole program and calculate your tax return before you are asked to pay for it. With TurboTax Online, you only pay when you Print or Electronically File your tax return. With the store (desktop) version, you have essentially paid for it when you walk out of the store.
Typically, the store (desktop) version also says that it includes a "free electronic filing" with the purchase of the software. However, the reality is that you must first pay the electronic filing fee up-front with your credit card and then send in a rebate coupon to get your money back.
The store (desktop) version also limits you to one computer when working
on your tax return. With TurboTax Online, you can access your tax return
any time, any where from any computer that has Internet access.
Also, the store version doesn’t come with the exclusive toll free
member support line. For those who purchase the store version, any technical
or customer service issues about TurboTax must be handled through the
fee-based support line operated by Intuit.
The TurboTax Online version also comes with the state version included in it. The State calculations are a function of your federal tax return, so with TurboTax Online, once you finish your federal tax return, your state tax return is almost complete. Just answer a few follow up questions and you are done with the state tax return as well. The store (desktop) version has a separate state software package that you have to actually buy and load on your computer.
